a day in the forest

'a day in the forest' is the name of a project started by

Kazuto Yoshikawa, an wood artist and a designer.
The project utilizes sustainable wood from mountains
in Mie

prefecture where some of the forests are owned by TOYOTA

who are working on environmental preservation,

and are also promoting proper use of forests

for harmonious coexistence of nature and humans.

The mirrors are manufactured by a local picture framer,

since establishing in 1946, they have always wood

for their picture frames.

Through highly skilled craftsmanship of bending wood

and gold leafing, timeless design are achieved.

They are not mirrors for seeing oneself only, they are also

a letter and a piece of art from nature.
